A guided assessment in seven chapters with an AI agent. It turns your server inventory and your business context into a costed migration plan your leadership can defend line by line.

The Sherpa Migration Assessment is a paid add-on to Sherpa, an AI platform for AWS, that turns a server inventory and the business's own context into a costed migration plan. An AI agent guides the team through seven chapters: Introduction and Kickoff, Business Scope and Owners, Estate Data, Workload and Domain Discovery, Infrastructure, Target State and Pricing, and Review and Compile. It imports inventories from RVTools and the AWS Transform discovery tool, records every decision, assumption, risk and open item, and produces a migration workbook, a Word report and an executive deck. In a published case study, the assessment reviewed 429 servers, narrowed them to the 350 the business agreed to move, and priced them at $630,987 over three years, with every figure traced to a source.

A data center exit, a renewal or a hardware refresh.
No two sources agree on the server count.
Senior engineers rebuild the picture by hand.
Leaders can't see the cost or the risk.

A migration budget your leadership can defend line by line, with the open questions listed instead of hidden inside a total.
Sherpa asks what each system is for, who owns it and whether the business wants it moved, and records only what your team confirms. What's unknown is shown as unknown, never as zero.

Sherpa prices the databases, storage, platform and network services that a server-only estimate leaves out, and every figure traces to a source.
Waves carry each server's application, environment, cutover window and rollback, and every risk has a named owner.
One customer used Sherpa's Migration Assessment to see what server exports, measured usage and business context each add to an AWS migration price.

It is a paid add-on for platform subscribers.
You can price at three levels: the server exports, plus measured usage, plus your business context. The more context Sherpa has, the more of the estate it can scope, price and plan. The published case study shows all three.
Server inventories from RVTools and from the AWS Transform discovery tool, plus related documents.
A migration workbook, a Word report and an executive deck, built from what was recorded in the assessment.
No. Sherpa helps your team plan the move and record the decisions. Your engineers or your migration partner do the move.

On a 30-minute onboarding call, our team connects your AWS organization with you using one CloudFormation template. Your first cost data usually arrives within 24 to 48 hours.
After you sign up, a member of the Sherpa team contacts you within one business day to discuss your AWS environment and the right way to start.
